Over and Over Again…

…you are reminded that your network marketing business is a “face-to-face” business and not an “internet business”.

There’s good reason for that from the Network Marketing company’s perspective.

Just consider for a moment where they’re coming from.  Here’s an example.  A couple of network marketing companies that are common household names are AVON and Tupperware.  Visualizing these two companies, consider where they came from…how long they’ve been around and how they’ve reached the success that they have today.

It’s always been through contacting people face-to-face, talking to your family and friends, approaching people you don’t even know on the street, and even spending your hard-earned cash on advertising in the local paper or by direct mail.

Those days are not necessarily over, but we’ve certainly come a long way in forming relationships and are no longer tied to just our local market.

Just considering myself for a moment, I have met people all over the world whom I consider good friends, friends from Canada, Australia and even New Zealand.  Do you think for a moment that I could have formed these relationships without the Internet?  Not a chance.

But, where network marketing stifles an associate with their own network marketing company, is that they have adopted the mantra “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  Which leaves you, the associate who wants nothing more than to grow their business, out in the cold.

It can somehow feel though the network marketing company you’re with has a strangle-hold on what you can and cannot do.  Plus, they’re often very late in adopting new ideas and ways to help you market your business.

I know that you understand what I’m talking about.

So what are you, the network marketing associate supposed to do?

Well, I’ve got some good news and some bad news…

The good news is, I’ll be releasing a report that not only shows you all of the different ways you can market your network marketing business online but will also show you how to stay in the good graces of any network marketing company you’re affiliated with.

Now, before you go thinking that this is all just “fluff” junk, rest assured that I have been using these methods with amazing success for many years.  This isn’t coming from some person who doesn’t know crap about what she’s talking about.

The bad news, it will not be free.  But it will be very affordable.  I give a LOT of stuff away but this is too good to simply let it go for free.  Plus it will weed out those of you who really won’t do anything with it.

This report is only for those who are really serious about their network marketing business.  Not those who are just looking for freebie giveaways that are going to let it sit on their hard-drives taking up space.

Look for the reports release within the next few weeks.

Tired of being pitched to all the time?

I just posted an audio file over at my SEO website about a new absolutely free report about the state of Internet Marketing.  Sylvie Fortin has written a pretty scathing book about online marketers which is a very eye-opening read.

Aweber’s New Pricing Now in Effect

If you’ve used Aweber in the past, you know that if you had up to 10,000 subscribers you only paid $19.95 a month.

They’ve now changed the pricing but before you get all up in arms about this, here’s how it breaks down…

  1. If you were an Aweber customer PRIOR to the new pricing going into effect, you can either choose to upgrade to the new system or keep your pricing “as is”.
  2. If you’re a new Aweber customer, that is if you signed up today, you’d pay the new prices and get the new system.

So what is the “new system”?

Aweber has really gone the extra mile in providing their users with one of the ultimate ways to track what your visitor does.

Here are some of the benefits:

  • You’ll know exactly when your subscribers click on the links within your message.  This is important because you’ll then know when the right time is to send them messages.
  • You can send a broadcast only to those subscribers who didn’t open or click on your previous message.
  • You can send an email to only those subscribers who did in fact click on your order page, but didn’t order.
  • You can see which subscribers are responding to your campaigns; which links they visit, where on your site they’re going after they click through and which message they’re opening.
  • You can target subscribers by sending emails to ONLY those who have responded (or who didn’t respond) by clicking or opening a specific message or link.
  • Track revenue generated by your campaigns and see which subscribers and campaigns are making you money.
  • They’ve even removed the default “clicks.aweber.com” when you’re trying to track a link within your email.

All in all, it is a very intuitive and much-needed upgrade.  If your list remains 500 people or less, you still only pay the $19.95 but as your list grows, so does the amount you will be charged.

For more information, visit Aweber.  Or take a test drive of the system yourself.

Thanks to Alice Seba for pointing this out…

(be forewarned, I’m writing this as my 4-year-old is tugging at my sleeve saying “are you done yet?”…)

Thanks to Alice at http://www.internetmarketingsweetie.com/ whose Twitter tweet brought something to my attention…

Here’s how it breaks down…

Alice posted a link to Rick Butts’ blog which referenced a post on Ross Goldberg’s Blog about the “Worst Internet Marketing Advice Ever.”

Here’s the play by play:

Ross: “I believe you should sign up for every single newsletter you can find. I’m talking about everyone from Mike Filsaime to the littlest marketer you can find.”

Rick: “That’s stupid and here’s a video to watch that tells you how stupid it is.”

I do agree with Rick that it is a bad idea. You know why? Because someone else recommended it to me quite awhile ago and it’s done nothing but suck my time away. So I believe that Ross is just regurgitating advice he himself heard somewhere.

However, there is a hint of logic to subscribing to other marketer’s lists, especially ones that have been around forever and have established a solid reputation for themselves but one has to consider a couple of things:

First, you would think that you could glean some tidbits of information from them but the question arises…what tidbits? What piece of that promotion (because let’s face it, 99% of the time they are all promotions), should you pay attention to? Unless you have access to their testing results you simply have no idea, you can only “guess”.

Second, many of the “gurus” built their lists years ago. So why should that matter? Well, to me at least, it’s because years and years ago people bought into nearly everything - they simply didn’t know any better, yet I’ve rarely seen the sales tactics change.

But if you do as Ross suggests you will literally be inundated with emails on a daily basis. Personally, I think it’s a conspiracy to keep everyone busy so that no new competition can come running in. “Keep ‘em buying and keep ‘em thinking that they need Y when they just bought X which was incredibly similar last week. As long as they’re in information overload, we’re in the clear.”

Yeah, maybe a bit harsh, but, even though I too market online, I also take into account what irritates me in the emails I receive. I don’t care how “big” the name is, if I’m getting irritated, surely someone else is too. So, note to self “don’t replicate what ticks me off”.

In a nutshell, I do think that Ross was good-intentioned in giving the advice but think that Rick offers a much better argument; although I believe that Rick did tend to “pick on” Ross quite a bit…and the video does come across as Rick being a little bit of a “big bully”.

None the less, you have your own mind, so you can make your own decision on the matter.

ConnectingWAHMs has a new addition…

I’ve just added The Internet Marketing Garage Sale to our arsenal of websites.

It actually took me a very long time to decide whether or not to do the site since I was, quite frankly, afraid of some of the backlash I might receive. But, it came down to family or “others” and I chose family of course - who wouldn’t?

Suffice it to say, we recently were surprised with some huge expenses and I had to come up with a very quick way to bring in some money. So, The Internet Marketing Garage Sale was born.

Feel free to stop on by when you have a chance, and take a look around. I add more very, very frequently so come back often and see what’s available.

Thanks for visiting!
